Join us as we celebrate the flavors of the sea while proudly showcasing locally made products from Belizean small artisan businesses. Experience the ultimate unwind-and-relax vibe as you savor delectable lobster dishes, sip on refreshing drinks, and sway to the captivating melodies of a local steel band.

Battle of the Bartenders

Join us as three extraordinary bartenders go head-to-head in the ultimate Battle of the Bartenders Finals! Their ultimate goal, to be named Master Mixologist earning bragging rights not just for themselves, but also the resort they represent. The three resorts participating in the competition are The Rainforest Lodge at Sleeping Giant, The Lodge at Jaguar Reef, and Umaya Resort.  While the judging panel decides, witness the clash of cocktail creativity, skill, and passion as the reigning champions from each resort showcase their talent behind the bar. Whether you’re a cocktail connoisseur, an aspiring mixologist, or simply looking for a fun way to spend the weekend, this event promises to be a thrilling celebration of the art of bartending.

Sorrel, a relative to hibiscus and native to West Africa, has long been used to make wines and is a Belizean tradition especially in the Kriol culture where wine would be made in preparation of visits around Christmas by neighbors. Here we are utilizing the essence of the plant to render a slightly tart yet refreshing cocktail reminiscent of a daiquiri.

Nopal is lightly roasted, pureed, and reduced into a rich syrup which provides the main ingredient in this signature version of the popular Mexican cocktail. Nopal syrup, lime juice, and tequila are shaken and strained over ice in a citrus and spice-rimmed margarita glass.

The Sleeping Giant Cocktail
